For international buyers interested in purchasing an Apple Cabin from China, transportation is one of the most important parts of the purchasing process.
How is the cabin shipped? What information is required to calculate freight? What should the buyer prepare before delivery?
This guide explains the basic process.

Step 1: Confirm the Cabin Configuration
Transportation planning begins with the product itself.
Before calculating the final shipping solution, we need to confirm information such as:
- Cabin size
- Quantity
- Interior configuration
- Destination country
- Destination port
Different cabin sizes and quantities may require different loading arrangements.
Step 2: Choose the Shipping Terms
International buyers commonly request EXW, FOB, or CIF quotations.
EXW
EXW generally covers the product at our factory. The buyer is responsible for arranging transportation and subsequent logistics.
FOB
Under an FOB quotation, the relevant origin transportation and port arrangements are included according to the agreed terms.
CIF
A CIF quotation includes ocean freight to the agreed destination port in addition to the applicable product and origin costs.
Destination customs clearance, taxes, local port charges, and inland delivery should be confirmed separately according to the destination.
Step 3: Prepare for Ocean Transportation
Our Apple Cabins are designed with international transportation in mind.
For example, our 5.8 m, 8.5 m, and 11.5 m models can be planned around 40HC transportation arrangements depending on the final configuration.
Loading efficiency varies according to the cabin model.
For example, a 40HC container can accommodate two standard 5.8 m Apple Cabin units under the appropriate configuration.
For larger orders, our team can develop a loading plan based on the total quantity.
Step 4: Confirm Freight Near the Shipping Date
Ocean freight rates can change frequently.
For this reason, the most accurate freight quotation is normally confirmed closer to the shipping date.
We recommend checking the actual freight approximately seven days before shipment when preparing the final logistics arrangement.
This helps ensure that the transportation cost reflects the current shipping market.
Step 5: Prepare the Destination Site
While the cabin is being manufactured and transported, the buyer can prepare the installation site.
Depending on the project, preparations may include:
- Foundation
- Water supply
- Electricity
- Drainage
- Access road
- Crane or unloading equipment
The specific requirements depend on local site conditions and regulations.
Step 6: Receive and Position the Cabin
After customs clearance and inland transportation, the cabin can be delivered to the project site.
Because the main structure has already been completed in the factory, the amount of construction required on site can be reduced compared with conventional building methods.
The customer then completes the necessary utility connections and site work.
